Dedicated to the memory of Bonnie Smith

This site is a tribute to Bonnie . She is much loved and will always be remembered.

Sadly our beautiful Bonnie “Blue Eyes” passed away on Wednesday evening, just after 5pm, with Richard and myself at her side💔

Bonnie was a very special dog that brought much joy, not just to Richard and myself, but to all who met her.

People naturally smiled at Bonnie.  Many stopped to pet her, talk to her and most even asked to take her photograph.

Bonnie loved many things.  She loved family holidays (staying with The Millars, staying with her Granny, Donegal, Galway, Bath, Bristol, Cornwall, Wales and France), swimming, playing ball, playing with other dogs, playing with her Daddy Richard, chasing cats (back in the day), searching for her purposefully hidden “toy”, sticking her big wet nose in present bags, “mouth” delivering cards and cuddles with her Mummy Anne and Daddy Richard.

But most of all Bonnie loved people, from babies to children to adults to the elderly.  At a time, Bonnie even used to visit our brother in law’s mother, Belle, and other residents in Mount Alexander Lodge, Comber.  But Bonnie’s favourite place to meet people was at Daft Eddy’s, where she was welcomed with open arms and became the “Daft Eddy’s mascot”. No matter what the occasion at Dafts, Bonnie was there in the thick of it.  Loved not just by the owners, staff and regular customers but also by others who had come in for a drink or a nice meal.  Bonnie actually ran to Dafts on Saturday, having missed it for 5 days when it was closed for refurbishments.  Bonnie was even there on Tuesday night, the night before she died, enjoying the craic at the bar.

Bonnie loved life and lived it to the full. We were a team, Team Smith:  Richard, Anne and Bonnie who went, whenever possible, everywhere together. A part of our family is missing 💔

Bonnie you gave us 13 and three quarter marvellous years and we are thankful for each and every second. May you rest in peace. We will love you. Always. Xoxo
